We redesigned the UI of a science-based strength training app, replacing stacked cards with a premium, high-hierarchy interface built for daily motivation

Challenge
Tenzio was already fully built and working — solid backend, proven training logic — but the interface undercut it. Screens read as a stack of dark, cyan-heavy cards with flat hierarchy and poor use of screen width, and Home felt like a workout launcher rather than the daily status and motivation screen a premium training app needs. Grona's brief: rebuild the visual language into a confident, high-hierarchy experience

/
Solution
The product itself didn't need to change — the training logic, analytics, and coaching system were already strong. Our answer was purely visual: break the stacked-card structure into a clear typographic hierarchy, let layouts breathe across the full width, and pull cyan back from a default color into a targeted accent against a warmer, less flat dark base

/
Onboarding Flow
A short, guided setup turns a blank app into a personalized training plan — frequency, session length, experience level, even muscle-group priorities — with a clear choice between a fully AI-built program or building your own split. No generic questionnaire; every answer directly shapes the plan the app generates

/
Workout Flow
From prep to rest timer, every step of a session stays in context: a lobby shows the day's exercises before you start, per-move setup cues remove guesswork at the machine, and live logging carries your last session's numbers, a built-in warm-up protocol, and an RIR scale — with real-time coaching nudges when a set runs hot or a plateau shows up in the data.

/
Widgets Flow
The two headline stats on Home aren't just numbers — tapping either opens a full breakdown. Muscle Focus expands into the custom front/back anatomical illustration, showing volume and status per muscle group with a direct call to action ('Under-stimulated. Add 2 sets next workout'). e1RM / Strength opens a long-range trend chart with a written insight on what's driving the number, plus a session-by-session log of every lift that contributed to it.

/
Progress — Strength
A single screen answers 'am I getting stronger?' at a glance: a hero chart surfaces the lift with the biggest recent gain — trend line, current weight, and delta — filterable from 7 days to all-time, followed by a grid of every tracked exercise showing its last session's result and change since. No digging through individual workout logs to see the trend.

Beyond the color, type, and component tokens, the system's signature piece is a custom-illustrated anatomical body map — front and back, muscle groups rendered in precise vector detail — that turns abstract Muscle Focus percentages into something you can actually see on a body. Paired with the near-black canvas and a single glowing cyan gradient used sparingly for emphasis, it gives the whole product a distinct, almost medical-grade visual signature no generic icon set or stock illustration could deliver.

Results
The redesign gave Tenzio the premium, high-hierarchy interface its founder envisioned — delivered entirely as developer-ready Figma specs that dropped straight into the existing tech stack with no friction on the engineering side

Grona did a fantastic job helping me with my app redesign. He provided high quality work that all translated well to the tech framework I am working with. I'd highly recommend working with Ivan if you care about quality.
